Description:
============

You may have noticed that in BG1&2 Elves and Half-Elves didn't get their charm and sleep resistances as per 2E AD&D rules. In fact,the resistances were not present at all,which could easily be confirmed by testing. I believe only IWD1 partially implemented these resistances by giving Elves complete immunity to low level charm spells. This mod will restore the missing resistances to Elves and Half-Elves as they were described in the 2E AD&D Player's Handbook:

"Elven characters have 90% resistance to sleep and all charm-related spells. This is in addition to the normal saving throw allowed against a charm spell."

"Half-Elven characters have a 30% resistance to sleep and all charm-related spells."

Since I've noticed that Half-Orcs didn't get their Infravision in BG2 (and they should per 2E AD&D rules) I decided to correct that as well.

v2.01 note:

Some of you may remember my previous attempt to implement the Elven charm/sleep resistances. In lack of a better solution at the given time,I tried making Elves fully immune to some of the charm spells. Recently however,I found a way to implement proper percentile resistances for both Elves 90% and Half-Elves 30%. Special thanks to my namesake,Avenger from TeamBG,for pointing out the EFF method :) Note that this revision (2.01) is not compatible with my previous 1.xx 'aTraits' version. Please uninstall the old version before installing this one.

Usage:
======

Elven and Half-Elven resistances are implemented automatically once the mod is installed.

Half-Orc Infravision can be restored by drinking the appropriate potion. If you decide to start a new game, once you awaken in Irenicus' Dungeon and after Imoen speaks to you,go and talk to the Jailkeeper Golem in the first room to the left. Select the last dialogue option which should read:

[5.] It is not my concern. Give me what you have.

The golem will then give you the modified Infravision potion. Drink the potion and you should get the missing Infravision back. These potions can be later bought at the Temples of Ilmater located in Waukeen's Promenade (AR0703) and in the Slums (AR0408).

Another way to use the Infravision fix (if you are already somewhere in the middle of the game) is to manually insert and use the potion. Use the CLUA Console prompt with the command CLUAConsole:CreateItem("ORCINF")

Compatibility:
==============

This mod should be compatible with any other mods which do not use the above listed files. To be sure,simply check if those files are already present in the Override folder of Baldur's Gate 2. If they are not present before installing this mod there should be no compatibility issues.

This revision (2.00) is not compatible with my previous 'aTraits' version. Please uninstall the old version before installing this one.

Known Bugs:
===========

* The Half-Orc potion of Infravision is unintentionally usable by Humans. This is a bug caused by the hardcoded BG2 racial definitions. Although the Humans can drink the potion,they will not gain the Infravision trait.

* Even if a (Half)Elven character resists a sleep/charm spell, the spell icon on his portrait may still be present.

* If you have already visited the Temple of Ilmater store you won't be able to buy the Half-Orc Infravision potions,because the SLILMAT.STO file is now contained in your save game. This is a known Infinity Engine issue,the only solution is to start a new game.

* If you have already installed an older aTraits version,and applied the potions to your character,you won't benefit from this update. Currently,the only solution is to start a new game.

Notes:
======

* Elves and Half-Elves are NOT resistant to Mind Flayer Domination attacks. This is not a bug,it was intended to be that way. The reasoning comes from the AD&D Monstrous Manual:

"Psionic flayers, considered the only true illithids by some (including themselves), have most of the same statistics and abilities as other mind flayers. Instead of magic-based abilities, however, theirs are purely psionic."

* Elves and Half-Elves are NOT resistant to the effects of unconsciousness (i.e. Stinking Cloud) They only resist Sleep effects (i.e. Power Word Sleep)
